Does that mean you're playing 3, 4 or 5 color allies in sealed? I could see UW with the mill ally and Join the Ranks being pretty great in draft or sealed. Those aren't terrible colors. Red or black might should be a splash for removal and for more allies.
It really doesnt matter, if you can play white, you should play as many Join the Ranks as possible.
At the absolute worst, Join the Ranks is an expensive Gilt Leaf Ambush.
All colors have allies, enough to where in limited you will be playing at least two. This means that Join the ranks can come in after your opponent has declared attackers pumping your current allies twice plus giving you two unknown blockers. often times its at least a 1 for 1 removal, if not a 2 or 3 for 1 situation depend on the current state of your allies.
